A storm of unverified reports began circulating recently with rumors of a new line of Glock pistols called the “V Series”. The leaked source suggested that Glock is preparing for its most significant product line overhaul in decades.
While Glock was not intending for this information to be released by a third party who was not affiliated with Glock, they issued a short statement.
On Tuesday morning, they confirmed a new line of V Series pistols was in the works and we may see them as early as December.

Besides confirming a V Series was indeed on its way, they said “we are making necessary updates to our product line to align with upcoming offerings.
We like a little suspense in the firearms world, but this has got everyone’s guessing machines working at full speed. What exactly is the “V Series” and what is the upcoming offerings they referenced?
What is the speculation?
It’s not clear at the moment what changes Glock is making, but we have already seen some modularity changes with their newer pistols. If you remember, Glock developed the G47 MOS, which used a Glock 19 frame and a G17 length slide. This has been confirmed as the pistol that will replace the Glock 17 MOS.
This made perfect sense because it allows them to streamline parts when building out different models. Glock does not make a change without careful consideration and planning. Each time they release a new generation of handguns, they include small but important updates that continue to improve the pistol.
In their statement, Glock also said these pistols would align with their “upcoming offerings.” I think this is more interesting than the news of a V series pistol. What other offerings do they have in the works?
Last year at SHOT we saw the partnership with Aimpoint for a Glock pistol that shipped with an Aimpoint already attached. Will we see some type of upgrades like we have in the past with new generations, or will there be something completely new?
It’s fun to speculate, but for now, all we can really do is wait until Glock releases more information, and this new series. According to Glock, the following firearms will be available as part of the V Series of pistols:
Glock V Series Pistols:
- G17 V
- G19 V
- G19X V
- G26 V
- G20 V MOS
- G23 V MOS
- G21 V MOS
- G44 V
- G19C V
- G45C V
- G17C V
- G19X V MOS TB
Glock stated that the external appearance of this new series will not change so I’m assuming Glock accessories like lights, sights, etc will still be compatible on the V Series models.
