Shot Show 2024, as usual, held Industry Day at The Range the day before the show began. The National Shooting Sports Foundation was the tile sponsor of the day, held at the Boulder Rifle & Pistol Club in Boulder City, Nevada. With over 130 Exhibitors, one day was not enough to visit them all, but for those of us who love shooting, it was a day well spent.
The Range

The range in Boulder City offered a great venue. There were both long and short range areas, paved walkways, and plenty of facilities. Shot Show had hydration stations, a nice touch, though the chilly weather and impending rain meant no one was in danger of dehydration. The terrain was mostly flat, although there was one steep hill dividing two sides of the range.
Shot Show 2024 Exhibitors
Both large and small companies exhibited their wares at the range. The best known names like Walther, Kimber, and B & T, shot alongside others including Primary Weapons Systems, Olympus Arms, and Shoot Like a Girl. The day made getting ready for the main show easier by introducing visitors to what they would see in more detail over the coming days. Other exhibitors including those introducing all sorts of accessories were also on hand to share their products. One of the most exciting aspects of Shot Show is the shear number of companies that attend as well as the number of those companies that release new products here.
Standouts at Industry Day at the Range
A few products stood out to us on range day, beginning with Primary Weapons Systems’ (PWS) prototype, not yet available for purchase, UXR.

This weapon utilizes a new, patent-pending, system that PWS calls “XCHANGE” which lets shooters change calibers quickly. The process requires changing only three parts, the magwell, barrel, and bolt head. The interchangeable magwells accept different magazine types and barrel lengths, returning to zero accurately. The UXR shot well; it was slightly heavy, but had nice recoil.

The ACRO P-2 pictured above sits atop a Glock clone by Shadow Systems. This updated red dot sells in the $600 range and is best when low-profile red dot are called for. Other specs from Aimpoint include:
- 3.5 MOA dot size
- 50,000 hours of operation
- 4 night vision compatible settings
- 6 daylight settings
- weight 2.1 oz
- submersible to 115 feet
Aimpoint also released a an ACRO version for shotguns too. This one of the best micro optics for shotguns you can find.

The KSG410 is a fun-to-shoot pump-action shot gun with a kick comparable to a 9mm. This weapon is super light and slim, measuring just over an inch and a half wide and weighing only 5.4 pounds. It is also the only dual tube, .410 bore in the world, according to Kel-Tec’s website. That might be the only issue with KSG – .410 ammo can be hard to track down. The KSG410 sells for around $500.
Summary
At the end of range day at Shot Show 2024, we had seen and shot a lot of guns. It’s a day that you wish could happen more than once a year, and we already can’t wait until next time!
