It’s Wednesday, and that means it’s the second day on the floor at Shot Show 2024. When you hear about how big this trade show is, it really doesn’t hit home until you see it and try to visit as many booths as possible. At the end of the second day, the exhaustion is beginning to set it, but there’s so much more to see you’re still excited to keep going. Today we saw a lot of interesting products over on the expanded side at the Caesars Forum. We also checked out the separate areas for Law Enforcement and Military applications.
AR-15 Holsters?
What could this be? This was my first question when I saw the large graphic at the Stratus Support Systems booth that said “The World’s Most Reliable AR-15 Holster.” This hands free method of carrying rifles attaches to either Molle or belts.
The holster requires a part, which is essentially a knob, to be attached to the AR. This knob will then sit down into the holster, which has a level 1 retention meaning the user will have to actively push a button to get the weapon out. This action keeps the gun from falling out if the wearer bends down. When worn on the belt, its uses expand to other options such as being used with a sling.
The company is also advertising use with Airsoft guns.
Mechanix Gloves
Mechanix gloves have always been a quality product. They will soon be offering a four-layer glove system which will allow users to be as warm as the weather may require. Starting with the brown glove on the top left is the thinnest layer for warm weather. Then moving to the right then bottom left and bottom right, the gloves keep getting thicker for colder and colder weather. Each glove is intended to be placed over the one before creating an increasing defense against cold weather.
Real Avid
It’s no secret that we are big fans of Real Avid tools. Their new mobile workstation looks like it’s going to be a favorite. It has everything you need to clean, maintain, and repair weapons while you’re out in the field. It even comes with a 60 lumen light which clips on to the workstation for maximum usefulness. There are other attachments that you can purchase to go with the set including a magnifying glass and cell phone holder which clip on just like the light.
Salt: Less Lethal
Salt’s less lethal offerings are built just a bit differently than others, and corresponding holsters are also available. The gas tubes in the handguns are housed in the handle, while the magazine for the projectiles is held in the barrel. According to the company, the design allows the projectiles to be shot at higher velocities than others while still protecting the projectile from accidental discharge inside the weapon. We think the product looks great too.
Shot Show 2024 is shaping up to be one of the best. The products we have seen so far have us excited to get our hands on them.
